Darwin was a writer! We all are familiar with his 490 page “abstract”,
aka "On the Origin of Species”. But he left a far wider, and wonderful, paper trail!

Writing to himself in his notebooks, to others in correspondence and a whole library of books, especially on botanical topics, that together help us explore and understand the human endeavor of science. Many of these documents are available free, on the Internet. Join us for a conversation about, and examples of, using
these resources to develop an understanding of the Nature of Science as described in Appendix H of the NGSS. These examples were developed for a variety of multi-day middle school science professional learning courses as part of the Urban Advantage
program at the American Museum of Natural History.
