The new Lidl will be located at 335 Eighth Avenue in an affordable housing base between West 26th and West 27th.
The residential development required the inclusion of an inexpensive supermarket.
“Lidl shares our commitment to the Chelsea community and will continue to provide excellent services and products in the area,” commercial columnist Mary-Ann Gilmartin, founder and CEO of MAG, said in a statement.
The developer is expected to begin work on the project this month, with an opening date slated for 2025.
Lidl plans to open even more stores in the next few years, including the first store in Brooklyn, scheduled to open in 2024.
