the department store clarified when to expect the return of the store

On April 25, all New Yorkers waited with bated breath for the return of the iconic and beloved Century 21. But the miracle never happened. The store is still closed, and there is no exact opening date yet. Edition Tribeca Citizen tried to figure out when we should expect the return of the giant.

Century 21 PR said the store would open “in the middle of spring.” This means approximately May 20 (assuming that this is the middle between March 20 and June 21, the first days of spring and summer, respectively). They added “COMING SOON!”. So maybe it will happen a few days earlier.

In February, the store was promised to open on April 25. The flagship store closed in the fall of 2020 when the company filed for bankruptcy and closed stores across the country.

Now we are recruiting employees (judging by the company’s post on Instagram).

The store cooperates with the manager of the concert venue Legends. They promise to “introduce an updated shopping experience for loyal local – and global – Century 21 fans.”

It looks like everything will be basically the same as before.

“This partnership will combine Legends’ experience in multi-channel management with the expert selection of Century 21 designer brands at amazing prices. And provide fans of the iconic brand with an enhanced in-store and online shopping experience. – The reopened Cortlandt Street store will occupy the four main floors of the original location in the city centre. And will offer men’s, women’s and children’s designer clothing, shoes, outerwear, bags, accessories and fragrances.”

What is missing, as many commentators point out, is household goods.
