This haunted house is ranked as the #1 haunted house in the tri-state area, so it is definitely one of the top haunted houses in New York, but what makes A Haunting in Hollis unique is that it is located in a residential area . Yes exactly. Throughout October, this house turns into the scariest house.

2. Headless Horseman Haunted Attraction, Ulster Park

Although the Headless Horseman haunted house is about 2.5 hours from New York City, it’s worth a trip to the state in the fall. There are several haunted houses to choose from, meaning you can spend several hours exploring the scary manor.

Try to make it through the Glutton’s Diner and Slaughterhouse attraction without getting scared, or even survive the chilling Moonlight Motel unscathed. They have other, less scary activities, and although this place is out of town, it’s a must visit if you love Halloween.
