New York School Calendar for the next 3 school years
The first day of the new 2023-2024 academic year is approaching. The New York City Department of Education (DOE) has released school calendars for the next three years. Whether you like to plan ahead or prefer last-minute adventures, access to the school calendar allows you to make the most of every extra day off. Now you have enough time to plan vacations, coordinate family activities and organize free time.
Students can look forward to almost two dozen days off, including religious holidays: Good Friday, Yom Kippur and Eid al-Fitr. The holidays that coincide with Christmas and Passover will also be extended.
Notably, Diwali is now officially recognized as New York’s public school holiday and will be included in the school calendar.
In addition, special days such as Italian Heritage Day, Indigenous Day, Election Day, Thanksgiving Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Remembrance Day will be observed, giving students extra free time.
