Midtown Concerts Gotham Early Music Scene is a series of free chamber music concerts organized with Cherry Orchard Festival in New York until June 29. Available to attend in person, as well as on live or recorded webcasts on YouTube, organizers aim to make uncommonly heard music accessible to all and “enrich the musical life” of New Yorkers. Concerts feature “unique” historical melodies played on antique instruments. As well as featuring performances of viola, gamba, harpsichord and violin, the concerts will also include songs and dances from May 25.
New York City to Host Free Chamber Music Concert Series
With the assistance of the Cherry Orchard Festival in New York, the Midtown Concerts Gotham Early Music Scene is taking place, a series of free chamber music concerts. Performances can be attended in person, watched live or recorded on YouTube.
Each program is unique historical melodies performed on ancient instruments.
Concerts run until June 29 Thursdays at 13:15 at St. Malachy Church at 239 West 49th Street, Manhattan. The full schedule is here.
On May 25, BALAM Dance Theater will perform before the guests. Viola, gamba, harpsichord, violin, as well as songs and dances are waiting for guests.
