Mysterious street artist decorates shop windows in New York City for free
Walking along Amsterdam Avenue, you may notice ‘Snoeman’ artwork on the walls, doors, or empanadas adorning street carts. The work of the mysterious street artist has brought an indescribable magic to the streets of New York and has become an integral part of the local culture, according to Fox5.
New York-based artist “Snoeman” has been decorating their windows since the start of the pandemic, for free, according to salespeople and store owners in Washington Heights. “We are very grateful to him because he is doing a great job,” said liquor store owner Ali.
Ali has run his corner store for more than a decade and says the bright colors just add life to the neighborhood.
Snoeman makes the most of the space available, using vibrant colors and motivating messages that are his trademark. Although he does not want to show his face, “Snoeman” does not go unnoticed in the area. Now everyone here knows and loves his work.
“Snoeman’s job is needed. It is important to show diversity. Different things are happening in the area, you know? I think it revives him. It also changes the spirit. It’s not just about art, but also about what it makes a person feel,” said one of the locals.
According to the artist, he plans to paint several more frescoes in all areas of the city.
