In an attempt to evade the police, the driver crashed into an MTA bus: 7 people were injured

While trying to evade police, a car crashed into an MTA bus in Brooklyn, injuring seven people, NBC New York reported.

According to FDNY officials, the crash occurred around 2 p.m. near the corner of Avenue N and McDonald Avenue in Midwood. According to law enforcement officials, police were called after a witness said he saw a man with a gun in the car.

The police tried to stop the car, but the driver managed to escape. Soon after this, the would-be driver crashed into the bus.

As a result of the accident, seven people were taken to nearby hospitals, including the bus driver and three people in the car. Firefighters had to extricate two passengers who were trapped inside the vehicle. All victims received minor injuries.

When the driver drove off, police gave a chase, but it ended before the crash, sources said. The driver of the car was taken into custody. Information about the charges brought has not been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing.
