A man raped his two young female relatives for years in New York.

A New York man has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two of his underage female relatives, Fox News reported.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Wednesday that Jason Brown, 37, of Rockaway Beach, was sentenced to life in prison with the option of resentencing after 40 years.

“This sexual predator stole the innocence of two little girls who bravely told us about the horrors they endured,” Katz said. “And while we cannot erase the trauma they endured, I hope today’s sentence will bring them some peace of mind.”

During the trial, it was revealed that on July 25, 2019, Brown called two girls, ages 9 and 13, into his bedroom. While in the room, Brown beat the girls with a belt and performed oral sex on them before ordering the 9-year-old girl to leave the room. After the girl left, Brown was left alone with the 13-year-old girl he raped, prosecutors said.

Later that evening, the older girl sneaked out of the house and went to a nearby police station, where she told an officer about Brown’s actions. The New York Police Department (NYPD) arrested Brown shortly after the girl reported his behavior.

As a result, Brown was found guilty of two counts:

  • sexual assault of a child;
  • sexual conduct with a child in the first degree;
  • first and second degree rape;
  • three counts of first-degree criminal sexual act;
  • one count of second-degree criminal sexual act;
  • two counts of second-degree assault;
  • two counts of first-degree contempt of court;
  • and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The state’s top judge overseeing the trial, Usheer Pandit-Durant, sentenced Brown to an unspecified term of 40 years to life in prison.
