Otsego County Department of Social Services is seeking a fulltime Human Services Facilitator.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is an administrative position involving responsibility for the successful operation of the on-site agency housing facility and the performance of assigned subordinate social services staff. Employees in this class are responsible for recommending, implementing, and monitoring casework policies and procedures for the agency housing facility and are responsible for standards of casework service in accordance with all laws, regulations, and agency policies. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Social Service, and Director of Income Maintenance, in accordance with established policies and objectives permitting the frequent exercise of independent judgment. The Human Services Facilitator is responsible for the responsiveness and implementation of agency housing facility needs, as well as coordinating the functions of all casework, technical and related staff assigned to the agency housing division including their training and development through the use of supportive supervisory staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:

(a) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and/or Human Services, or a closely related field AND two (2) years of full-time experience or its part-time equivalent in a human services field with an emphasis in developing responses to individuals’ needs and facilitating cross systems programming intended to meet the needs of highly challenging populations such as persons with disabilities, mental health disorders, substance abuse; one (1) year must include overseeing clients or residents of a human services program; or
(b) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience as defined in (a) above.

*For purposes of qualifying for these titles a “human service field” includes social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, community mental health, child and family studies.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required at time of appointment and must be maintained during employment OR must be able to satisfy the travel requirements of the position throughout employment.
