MATA presents, supports, and commissions new music by early-career composers at an internationally recognized concert festival each spring in NYC. The organization will return to its Manhattan roots for the 26th annual MATA Festival, presented over the course of four nights in The Loft at Fotografiska New York.

Night one will be a thrilling evening of music celebrating all things cello, performed by cellist Yves Dhar with the GRAMMY-winning Experiential Orchestra led by James Blachly. Experience the NYC premiere of Grammy-nominated and Emmy award-winning composer Adam Schoenberg’s AUTOMATION, a double concerto for Human and holographic AI cellists.

Night two's concerts will feature the Bergamot String Quartet, Yuma Uesaka on saxophone, and composers Annie Aries Ruefenacht & Christian Quiñones performing their own works.

Night three will feature MATA mavens Azalea Twining on vocals, Laura Cocks on flute, Dennis Sullivan on percussion, Jennifer Choi on violin, and Titilayo Ayangade on cello as well as composers Jane Sheldon on vocals and Henryk Golden as the speaker.

On night four, the closing concert will present Olivier Glissant’s world premiere orchestration of Philip Glass’s Aguas da Amazonia, featuring the Brooklyn Orchestra.
