🏢Carnegie Hall
The Junction Trio brings together three distinctive and distinguished artists as a new-generation supergroup. In their Carnegie Hall debut, they perform a program reflective of their varied tastes, talents, and temperaments. John Zorn’s Philosophical Investigations—a New York premiere—draws inspiration from the frenzied and contrasting musical forces at play in Robert Schumann’s work. It pairs nicely with Ives’s prickly and playful Piano Trio. The program closes with Beethoven’s final piano trio, a significant and deeply touching work from late in the composer’s “heroic” middle period.
