Lunch in Little Italy & tour of Soho, Chinatown and Grand Central Terminal

Grand Central Terminal (New York, New York)

Enjoy a delicious lunch and visit some of New York’s oldest and most enchanting historic locations. We begin with a look at the secrets of New York’s architectural gem (Grand Central Terminal), then we take the train downtown and learn about Soho, Little Italy, and Chinatown. For over 100 years, the Beaux-Arts beauty known as Grand Central Terminal (a.k.a Station) has been a testament to the ingenuity and ambition of a great city, impressing both travelers and visitors with its wonderful architecture and pulsating vibe. Its history is a story of immense wealth, great engineering, a few accidents, a planned sabotage and one terrific ceiling, but most importantly a story of survival and rebirth. When we exit the subway you’ll be in Soho, the cast-iron center of the world. Nearly lost to a proposed 12 lane highway through the center of the city, Soho was saved thanks to the protests and pleas of it’s resident eager to save their homes. We will talk about the history of the characters that lived in Little Italy and ran the criminal underworld. From the Sopranos to John Gotti, see the spots that have made Little Italy world famous. Then we have lunch (1 Entree, 1 soft drink, and tip included). After lunch you can enjoy a cannoli at the oldest bakery in New York City. When end the tour in Chinatown. We will discuss the history of Canal Street and you can see where visitors from around the world shop for “authentic-fake” handbags and “rolex” watches.
