We are back with another edition of Spooky City! Join us on Saturday, October 26, for Halloween activities for visitors of all ages – including a trick-or-treat activity around the museum’s galleries!

Learn more below about what we have in store for families in the daytime and adults after dark.

For Families

Scavenger Hunt (ages 6 to 12)
1pm-4pm

Grab a scavenger hunt, explore the galleries to learn about New York City history and popular culture, and gather tasty treats along the way.

Spot the Pumpkin (ages 3 to 5)
1pm-4pm

Our youngest visitors are invited to spot pumpkins hidden throughout the museum – with colors and shapes that build their vocabulary. Collect all of the pumpkins and receive a prize!

Share Your Halloween Story
1pm-4pm

Inspired by a 1940 black-and-white photograph from famed photographer Alexander Alland of children dressed in Halloween costumes, reflect and share your favorite Halloween story with your family and other museum visitors in a participatory storytelling activity.

Arts and Crafts
1pm-4pm

Get crafty and make a seasonal item fit for a spooky (or silly) NYC Halloween.

Storytime (ages 3 to 6)
30 min, @ 1:30pm, and 3pm

Drop on in for storytime, Halloween edition! This program is part of our Storytime series targeted for children ages 3 to 6.

Costume Contest Jr. (ages 0 to 18)
2-3 PM

Dress up in your Halloween costume and strut your stuff on our spooky-inspired runway! Join to watch and cast your vote – the top costumes will receive a prize. Enter yourself, your child, or your whole family for the following categories:

Costume Contest for Minis (ages 0-5)
Costume Contest for Kids (ages 6-12)
