Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed is an immersive, interactive solo show that tells the story of the first African-American woman elected to Congress and the first to run for the presidency of the U.S. Actress and playwright Ingrid Griffith portrays 15 different characters in this performance that traces Shirley Chisholm’s journey from her childhood in Barbados to her rise in politics and activism in the Unites States.
The show presented in conjunction with our exhibition Changing the Face of Democracy: Shirley Chisholm at 100.
